Prepping for Baby Hatton

This past year was...well...not the best. My job was crazy busy and stressful, school for Taylor was intense, and we didn't have much time to do the things we enjoy. Summer brought us some much needed recoperation and a chance to be us again! I switched jobs, Taylor figured out a workable plan for balancing the demands of school, and we found out we were having a baby boy in the Spring. My sister-in-law reminded me that I haven't updated the blog in forever and thought I would take this chance to start getting back into the habit!

We've been having fun preparing for the baby. Taylor likes looking for good deals on baby gear and I have fun picking out cute outfits and creating a space for the little guy. The problem is, we really don't have much space. Living in a studio apartment limits what I can do for a baby room, but we were able to put together a baby corner!

Viola!

The mini-crib belonged to my Granddad Rasmussen who slept in it as a baby way back in 1918. I was able to use my serger and new sewing machine to make some fitted sheets, we purchased the wall decals on-line, and I used my cricut cutter to cut out his name with black vinyl. Here's hoping that baby Declan will like his new home when we bring him here...in just 9 more weeks!

  1. Declan is my favorite boy name. It is on the top of my list.....but if we have a boy next, I can't use it because then our kids would be L. E. D......and my husband has an obsession with LED lights, so I'm not going to let his obsession transfer down to our children's names!!! I hope to get a Declan down the line, though!!!! Favorite!!!!
